Today we’d like to introduce you to Farzan Dehmoubed and Jennifer Duvall.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Farzan and Jennifer. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We started our business after California’s plastic bag ban became official this January when we quickly noticed that there was a need for quality, recycled bags that avoid filling homes with the abundant and cheap ones that are often forgotten at home, tear or quickly end up in landfills. After relentless researching, testing, and prototyping, we developed a product we are proud of and use and love personally. We launched on Amazon in mid-May had our official debut at Fiesta del Sol in Solana Beach May 19-20. The idea for the Lotus Trolley Bags came out of the frustration of having too much clutter with our current reusable bags and always forgetting our bags at home. We set out to find a system that was easy and worked for us. We went through many variations of the product, testing in great detail, the design, quality and strength of the bags. The last thing we wanted to make was another cheaply made reusable bag that would tear or fray after a few uses. To achieve this, we used 120-gram non-woven PP material (most reusable bags are 60-grams or less) with reinforced handles, double stitching and one of the strongest mesh bottoms we could find. We then had the bags tested with over 70 pounds in each bag, more than we could ever carry. Read more here.
